# WXP Restaurant Reservations shortcodes

WXP Restaurant Reservations has one shortcode. It shows the booking form for your guests. You can also use the booking form block in the block editor or the widget in the **WXP Plugins** panel in Elementor.

## \[wxp_restaurant_reservations\]

```
[wxp_restaurant_reservations]
[wxp_restaurant_reservations party="4"]
[wxp_restaurant_reservations party="2" template="booking-form"]
```

### Parameters

| Parameter | Values | Default | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `party` | a number of guests | `2` | The number of guests the form starts with. The number is kept between your minimum and maximum party size from the settings. |
| `template` | `booking-form`, or the name of a template in your theme | `booking-form` | The layout of the form. |

### Good to know

- **Switch bookings on first:** the form only takes bookings after you switch on **Accept bookings on the website** in **Reservations → Settings**. Until then the form tells visitors that online booking is not available.
- **Own layout:** copy a file from the plugin's `templates` folder to `wxp-restaurant-reservations/` in your (child) theme, and give its name to `template`.
- **Showing the code in a page:** WordPress runs shortcodes everywhere in the content, also inside code blocks. To show a shortcode as text, write it with double brackets, like in this guide.
